Dear Friends and Neighbours,

Serving our community is an honour and a privilege I take to heart. Ward 2 is our home, it's been deeply rooted at the core of my family's existence for nearly a century - together - it's where we proudly raise our families and build Oshawa's bright future. Since returning to serve our community, as your Regional and City Councillor and Chair of Development, I am proud to have led the City of Oshawa to billions in investment into the local economy over $2 Billion of which in new construction permits with nearly $800 Million in permits during the third quarter of 2022 alone! This includes the creation of the GTA’s newest and most exciting business hub ‘Northwood Business Park’ located in northwest Oshawa right next to Ontario Tech University and Durham College. All of this accomplished during one of the most difficult periods in global history!

Oshawa is booming with more than 5,000 new jobs, over 3 Million sqft of new job-creating prestige industrial projects, and roughly 2 Million sqft more on the way in our newly created 'Northwood Business Park' as a result of this transformative vision to strategically boost local economic development through a focused effort to drive and attract new job creating investments! My efforts were dedicated to a strategic financial plan which helped to significantly restore our city’s financial position. My priorities include, sustainable development that leverage our own skilled workforce from Ontario Tech University and Durham College, and making our community more livable by preserving greenspace, enhancing neighbourhood safety, and improving the quality of life for all - seniors, children and families alike.

Our focused financial stewardship, and my depth of experience and knowledge with regional and municipal budgets, were key to the sound strategic actions taken. These actions resulted in record debt being paid down, renewed contributions to our reserve fund strategy, vital investments in community infrastructure and many core-service improvements while still managing to hold the line on taxes to an average of 1.79% which is well below inflation. Extensive Provincial and Third Party audits conducted by MNP, Deloitte, and KPMG have proven that Oshawa has successfully reestablished a strong financial framework and is leading the way with a solid financial position which focuses on balancing growth, affordability, and community needs into the future.

Preserving Greenspace like Camp Samac, Building the newly approved Recreation Centre and Community Park for Windfields and northwest Oshawa residents, Reducing the impact of the Oshawa Airport on our community, and Advocating for a New Police Station for North Oshawa are priorities I continue to diligently champion for residents of Ward 2 - because - Oshawa must always strive to be a safe, vibrant, and sustainable community where families can put down roots, build a prosperous future, for all generations to enjoy and be proud to call home.
